JCo Lumber has been providing quality products and services to the Jackson County area for over 50 years. Robert Cole and Homer Gandee started this venture back in the mid-1950's. The business started in Ravenswood, WV as Ravenswood Lumber Co. In 1960, property was purchased in Ripley, WV, and the name of the business was changed to JCo Lumber(Jackson County Lumber). The business has continued operation over the years, employing dozens of local people and contributing to the local economy. Today, the operation is located at 500 Race St. in Ravenswood WV. Our goal is to continue to provide quality products and service to the local market. We continue to support local civic groups and employ local people.
The company is in its second generation of ownership. Bill Cole started managing the business in 1982 when his father, Robert, retired. We currently occupy four buildings in Ravenswood. While lumber is still part of the product mix, many hardware, electrical, and paint products are vital to the product mix. We also provide many services that are not common in many businesses. Those include, bill paying services, glass cutting, window and screen repair, custom cut and custom made wood products, Uhaul rentals, and rental equipment. These products and services continue to provide the people a good place to shop.
